Wow, I am shocked. To not include both Richard Sachs and Brian Bayliss on the list of best builders is sacrilegious. Both have been building for a long time. I have seen both builders work up close, and frankly, I don't think anybody tops them. FWIW, I have also seen two Confente's, and no question, Mario was great. His death shines a different light on his work, like with James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Bruce Lee. "Enter the Dragon" would not have had the impact it did if Bruce Lee had not died before it came out. If Mario were alive today, he might look at his work and find all kinds of things to improve. I think Richard and Brian (not exclude others, but just the work I have seen), have taken that step and improved a frame building tradition.
