The early C's used the existing SR cups that took 3/16" bearings. As far as I know they were identical, though it is possible that the markings differed. Campy is always changing markings on otherwise identical parts. The C's went to 7/32" bearings (different spindle and cups) by about 1987, I think. That's early in C production, especially when you consider that Campy made much more C stuff as the group gained acceptance. Therefore, most C bb's out there are the 7/32" type. Those were more durable than the early ones, thought still nothing like Nuovos. Also, it was easy to mess up any of the alloy cups when removing them from the frame.
If anyone cares, the best user BB for C-rec arms is the Croce (later sold as chorus). NR cups, but correct length spindle for C.
This gets me to thinking about how problematic the earliest C-record stuff was. Campy made major changes to virtually every part within the first few years... except possibly the shifters and the seatpost.
