Okay: I guess I'll put my two sense in. No unfortunately Brandon, I'm not in Vegas. I was suprised as any at the bid but I just got through emailing Chuck. Atleast ten years ago I bought out a local shop of three big boxes of Campy stuff, all NOS. In amongst it was three NOS NR triple cranks. I sold them each for $125.00/ Now there probably worth atleast $400.00. There was a bid of $500 simutaniously to the winners bid. The fellow who won the auction is a very avid collector who I respect. who is to say what that derailleur might be worth in 25 years when it is even more rare. It was a first year piece which added to it's value. Last year I paid $1200.00 for a Hetchins Trio, which if you saw its condition, you might think me nuts. There were only six Trios made that year and it has many rare features. Did I over pay ??? I respect Jerry's opinions but Chuck's remarks come close to mine. Beauty, rarity and value are all in the eye of the beholder. I have cycles that I've probably over paid by some collectors standard, but they were worth it to me. Peter Naiman
