When I was in Amsterdam 1.5 years ago M and I stopped by their shop with our local friend Enno. The sory as Enno told me is the they were slowly falling apart since nobody wants to take up framebuilding. They haven't had an apprentice since the 80's. The theory was since Koga-Miyata started a big jump in production they could pay better than any of the small local builders.

On a related note many shops like the Plum shop in Ghent have left over "classic" bikes with full super record and little to no miles for about $400USD. I was really shocked by the low prices I found on older things. I had made a pact not to buy any bike stuff on out honeymoon so I didn't grab anything. M is going to be over there for 6-7 weeks at the end of the summre and I'm going to have her scout things out so that when I come over I can have a mild shopping spree.
