I think the International was a double chainring only deal from the factory. The chainstays are also a tad short (16.5 inches on my '75) for ideal triple usage, but I do run a triple on my Hot Rod International and it works fine. Components are a Campy Racing Triple front crank (52x42x30 rings), Ultegra Triple front derailer, XTR rear, Sunrace 6 speed 13-28 freewheel (frame was spread to 126 mm when repainted), Sunrace chain and Campy clamp on DT friction shifters. I avoid the cross over combinations, using the granny ring only in bail out climbing situations. The shortish, stiff rear end makes this an ace climbing rig (if only the motor weren't so underpowered!) while being a comfortable ride overall. Tons of room for fenders. Maybe an ideal century/audax rig? Whether its fitting and proper to put a triple on a "classic bike" I leave to your conscience.

Tom Adams, hoping for no rain to permit riding tonight in KC.

Did the Raleigh International ever come with a triple chain ring? And what you think of putting a triple on an International frame?
thanks,
