The pinnacle of vintage lightweight is Eddy Merckx's 1972 hour record bike. A Windsor!*

The governing body of vintage lightweight cycling, the Union Cycliste International has said so with its design restrictions. Last year the UCI reset the World Hour Record back to Eddy Merckx's 1972 ride of 49kph in Mexico City, making history of the "Super Records" of Moser, Obree, Boardman, Indurain, and Rominger on hi-tech bikes. Cycling is a sport for athletes, not machines. That means no investment-cast time-saving designs for the vintage lightweight cycling union.
