Miles from Nowhere was certainly a remarkable story about one woman's adventure, cycling around the world. That the author, Barbara Savage, died in a cycling accident before it was published, added to the mystique. Although I'm not a tourer per se, I have to admit her book sure whetted my appetite for it. Two books that crown my library of books on "classics" are the CUSTOM BICYCLE and HIGH-TECH BICYCLES. Both focus on the late 70s, early 80s models that exhibit many of the features discussed by the CR. THe latter has great glossy pics, while the CUSTOM BICYCLE is a better reference guide.
