i think it was the on the 2nd generation chorus calipers that i first noticed the springs in question. when i realized that they were smaller guage and produced a 'light-action' feel , i immediately bought dozens of them and began to retrofit these into client's nr/sr brakes and early chorus ones, too. all these pieces were interchangeable. i still have about 10 sets here. it was, in fact, a matte finish, rather than plated. e-RICHIE
