Ian, to French nuts like myself, that Ad Hoc pump is another rare bird. That really is not too far off base. Those pumps were not really that popular here in the US. And when they kept falling off the bike that got moved from room to hook to room to attic, they usually got ditched. In order to complete a total French "resto" is to have one of those. I have an NOS one that came with a 75 Peugeot and I was offered $200 cash on the spot for it. I did not accept and still have it. The one on ebay was from the sixties, maybe early seventies, and in pretty good shape. But I guess its kind of the same thing for me when I see people paying mega dollars for Campy Record cranksets.
