Subject: [CR]Classic shoes?

I've noticed that Vintage Velos now has two types of classic shoes for sale: Detto Pietro '2000 Superlight' and Alessandro Leather Racing. These latter seem to have a a certain panache since they are made of marsupial leather and have leather soles. VV used to sell others, a Bartali-model: I can't recall the model but they had really thin leather soles (REALLY thin), so I had a thick(ish) vibram sole put on them because I wanted to USE them, not thinking them special enough to be collectable. The Reynolds shoes that Chris Beyer mentioned are the Taj Mahal if you ask me and I have two pairs fresh in boxes while I am working on the third soles on my first pair. I wear them for much more than cycling. If I had an inexhaustible resource I would wear ONLY these shoes for everything short of Everest climbs. (I hoard Converse All-Stars and Jack Purcells too, riding in either is a go-to-the-store option for me.) Anyone have a pair of those Carnac Carlits?

usually in my SIDIs, and I like the lorica ones better than the same ones in leather, I confess,
