Laurie and I were going to ride by Il Vecchio so I brought the camera. Pix of the '81 Pinarello and a '49 Bianchi are up at http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/il_vecchio/

There you'll find two directories called Hi-res and Smaller. The same pictures are in both; grab the Hi-res ones if you have a fast Internet connection and/or a high screen resolution on your monitor. Details in case you're interested: the Hi-res ones are 1280x960 pixels with low compression, about 200kb file size, vs. 640x480 and higher compression, under 50kb in the Smaller directory.

You'll see the Pinarello corresponds exactly to Aldo's description of the Giro bike, including a red saddle (somewhat faded by the years). About the only thing I can add is the headset is an SR track, not road. The tubing is supposedly Columbus KL, which is wicked light stuff, something like 0.7/0.5mm DB IIRC. Too bad about those lightening holes in the granny ring, eh? Would've taken 'em like another minute to deburr the holes...

Overall a seriously nice bike, but absolutely not for sale so please don't contact George to offer to buy it. He was a little reluctant at first to let me put pix on the web, so please respect our wishes and don't make him sorry he agreed to let me post them. Do visit his shop if you're in Seattle, to see it (and all the other cool stuff there) in person.
