Dale might not like this but I think it applies to a subject from a week ago. Anyway, tonight we're going to see a lecture by Santa Barbara's own Douglas Adams (Yes, that Douglas Adams) and in the student newpaper is a quote of his about computers and I think it applies to why most of the list is into 70's-80's bikes. "There's a set of rules that anything that was in the world when you were born is normal and natural. Anything invented between when you were 15 and 35 is new and revolutionary and exciting, and you'll probably get a career in it. Anything invented after you were 35 is against the natural order of things."

Mitzi (my wife) read this and started laughing so hard she almost fell off the couch. She said something like, "This is so that bike list of yours." I would have to agree when I think of the survey taken a few months back. In my case "classic bikes" from the mid-80's happened when I was 15 and I thought Campy SR and C-R were revolutionary, and sure enough I got a career in it.

enjoy, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives

PS: Thanks to all those folks that would like to meet me, even if it just to whack my up side the head. There's always a cold homebrew in the fridge waiting for you.
