David They are LOTS better than the stock Campy compounds. I had them for years (they last a long time, too) on a set of NR short reach brakes, and they stopped almost as well as a set of dual pivots. Better in the dry and rain, I might add. I just got a set of refills at a swap meet Sunday, I am going to use them on a set of Gran compe NR copies. Good luck Mark Rosenberg howtostretch.com, in cool and dark San Diego
