Subject: [CR]Changes to San Diego Vintage Bike Ride

Because of an earth day fair at Balboa Park on Sunday April 22, we will have to park our cars on the opposite side ( east side) of Park Blvd and Presidents Way in the parking lot in front of the Veterans Memorial Museum which is next to the old navy Balboa hospital. We will meet at and leave from this new location. I will position myself in front of the Auto museum , to redirect those that can't be reached in time. I would suggest we meet at 9:30 for a 10:00 AM start. My cell phone # for those who have any difficulties is 1-619-239-3157 Also note that the Laurel street bridge into the park from the west side closes to auto traffic at 9:00 AM. So I would suggest taking hwy 163 all the way to downtown ( 163 turns into 10th st) or interstate 5 turn off at 10th street and turn left at the trolley tracks (C st ) go one block and make another left turn on Park Blvd and continuing on to Park Blvd and Presidents Way and right turn into old Balboa hospital/ Veterans Memorial museum parking lot. Overflow lot is at City College. P.S. Please call the people that are comming and let them know. Thanks, Sterling

There will be an French theme vintage bike ride in San Diego on Sunday, April ,22 We will ride through the park to Mission Hills- Presidio Park ,Old Town, down to the San Diego River, Ocean Beach and up to the Point Loma Light House and (tide pools-optional)back down around San Diego Bay and the Star of India sailing ship. To Anthony's fish-ette for a snack or lunch- on to the Gas Lamp Quarter Downtown and back to Balboa Park. This will be an easy moderate ride of 26 miles with an optional easy all flat 17 mile route. So bring any bike you want but it would be nice to see some old Rene Herses, Alex Singers, Routon , Louison Bobet, Motobecane, Peugeot, Gitane,Auotmo, Follis,Stella bikes etc. I know that from talking to people about the ride a lot of these bikes are going to show up and I would appreciate it if at least one person brought a digital camera and posted pictures on the web for the Cycles De Oro group. Thanks for your interest, Sterling Peters
