Rick, It is quiet isn't it? The master link probably wouldn't hurt, probably how it was done years ago. I just use my chain tool, force of habit I guess.(and my drivetrain is 3/32 not 1/8) If you're riding fixed you ought to check out the Fixed Gear list, it's relatively low volume.
