Greetings campers Finally had time to dig out my 83 Raleigh (US) catalog. Someday it, and others, will get to the Retro-Raleighs website, but we all have real lives, and we would rather be riding/swapping (or watching the WC Fields filmfest.) than sitting at the computers/scanners this time of year. There is only one 753 model shown for 83, and it is not a team. Black, with some stray chrome, "limited to 100 units per year, built on a custom basis only". Ofmega Mistral crank, Phil Wood hubs and BB, one picture shows a Cyclone II rear der but another photo and the specs show Super Record ders (just to remind you again that you can't always trust the catalogs), Dura Ace EX headset, Modolo Kronos brakes, blah blah blah.

My 1980 catalog shows pictures of the team frames in the three paint schemes described by Pete, and also mentions that there was a separate catalog for the team frames. Maybe the same was true for 83, 84, whenever. Maybe they appeared in the UK catalogs (Eric?). Components would be whatever the buyer installed. So, the color is probably okay on this one, but I wouldn't be too certain about the year without a serial number. And just out of basic paranoia, I would certainly want to see a better photo.

Still haven't replaced the storm windows with screens in WV. "It's not a fit night out for man nor beast" Larry "Winter is coming. Get out and ride!" Osborn
