If someone doesn't want to let their identity be known, as far as I'm concerned, they are fair game. What would be their problem in being outbid by a CR member who doesn't know them from a bale of hay. In some cases, they would be fair game anyway. I usually try to discuss this with a known member, but there are really no "rules" here, just what you are personally comfortable with, ethically, morally, etc. Good luck if you want something I want. Admittedly my tastes are very close to the bottom of the scale, moneywise. Most of these items, that you guys are discussing, are so far out of my affordability realm, that I probably should not even offer an opinion.

John Dunn in Napa Valley, where this weekend, at the wine auction, people are paying prices for wine that are so far out of my affordability realm, that the price of major luxury cars come to mind.
