Regarding the "who built Huffy's/Murray's" question; I have an excellent '80's steel fork with "Murray" on the caps; I've always assumed it came from a Murray team bike...I'd heard Serotta built these...does anyone know for sure? Next: I'll nominate Mike Celmins of Santa Barbara for consideration as a good local builder; he quit years ago, but you'll still see pristine examples of his work being pedaled around town. People have said he couldn't turn a profit & quit in disgust...I just know that every time I try to buy an old Celmins, somebody beats me to it.
