There are a few excellent framemakers out there past and present. Two people who impressed me were Brian Spitz of Los Altos, Ca. and Ric LaBan of Dallas, Tx. These guys always had the cleanest work going. Spitz is no longer in the bike business and I don't know what Ric is doing these days. Joe Bell
