Hello Jim,

Who cares? I care. This list is, as you say, "to discuss bicycles." The hobby includes buying, selling and issues of market value along with the technicalities of the physicl bicycle and it's components. I too, on occassion get tired of a particular thread - but as long as it is on topic, who am I (or you in this case) to whine about it to the list? This list is not about you and what you want to read - it is for all who Dale has graciously invited to subscribe and to get the most out of the individual and collective contributions. I have found many of the non-technical dicussions to be insightful about our hobby and appreciate those contributions. I post questions to the list when I'm looking for some specific knowledge or parts and I contribute to the list when I believe I have something of value to share. If you do not enjoy a particular thread - hit the delete button. If an on-topic type of bike is being bid to all new heights in the hobby it is fair to be discussed - maybe even foolish for it not to be discussed.

Finally, I am offended at your casual use of "some Jap." Surely if you have something valuable to contribute to the list you could do it in a more sensitive and non-offensive manner.

Eric "long time CR subscriber" Elman

> Hello all, I can't believe all the rhetoric concerning the confente on ebay. Many listmembers has posted their opinion that this auction is a scam. So if it is,WHO CARES!!! I subscribe to this list to learn about, and to discuss bicycles. I am sick and tired of wading through the garbage to do this. I have become disappointed with everyone slamming some Jap if he paid a lot for something or someone knowing it all if a auction brings a lot of money. I cant figure why so many things bring above market value but eveything can't be a scam or some hoax. Auction bidding is one of the oldest forms of commerce. Do your homework, place your bid, if you are top bidder, you are the winner, if your bid is called, maybe you were to conservative, or simply the merchandise was worth more to another. Very simple. Please lets stop the gossip and ignorant accusations, and let get back to talking about bicycles.
