Hi y'all, If you'll re-read Hilary's post you'll see he mentions owning a pair but not disassembling them, so they've been seen at least. A set with the red plastic washers (& with levers), used, went for more than $160 the other day on eBay. Dennis Ryan

Hi Folks:
    I'm not a direct witness about this ball bearing phenomenon,but Leonard Bulger,who is uncharacteristically silent now,has told me numerous times that he saw some latter day Mafacs with ball bearing pivots offered at a pro shop in Orange or San Diego counties about 20 years ago.They were pricey all right,and he's regretted ever since not just paying for them...
