I just picked up a Nishiki Olympic: Nishiki 4130, CroMo db, very clean lug werk filled thin toward the point.Sugino VP crank, Very short reach, black and bright DiaCompe brakes. Shimano derailleurs & shifters (Light Action at the rear)

Very attractive color scheme: white head, seat tube and fork with a transluscent midnight blue on the rest of the tubes. White vinyl tape with white feels-like-gum hoods. Bar-end plug missing but a whiskey cork fit it fine. A Saki cork would likely be more appropriate and less goofy-looking than with the thistle image on the red plastic cork cap......(no slur intended, Bruce ;^)

Nice 700 Araya rims but with a Schrader hole. Nishiki tires.....gum walls shot, though. Replaced them with Panaracers.

Light and fast overall. I mounted a Fujita Belt saddle on it (not so light).

Looks like late 70's to me.

Anyone know what years they were made, where they fell in the line, and what they cost new?

And why, BTW, is there no Nishiki page at the CR site?

Thanks! Calvert Guthrie Kansas City......where its too hot to quibble over degrees.
