Yup, and a pretty good memory intact as well :-)

I bought my Grand Record (silver, black head tube--wanted a black and red but none were in stock. Now I think they are kinda ugly!) in late '75 for the princely sum of, if I recall, 365.00 (from Doug Dale of Peleton in Amherst, MA). I agonized over the purchase--I REALLY wanted a Le Champ, but could not afford it and tools. I was concerned--being a good little bike nerd--about the questionable parentage of the rear triangle (it also had a mediocre seat post--Laprade, I believe. It didn't clamp to well...). I certainly don't think it is mild steel, so perhaps Motopecan took pot-luck on cro-mo stays.

It is my fixed gear, and is quite comfy. And LOVE the Nervex lugs...
