Hi Dale and everybody, I echo you friends sentiment regarding base tape attachment from tire-alert, the tape was so poorly attached that I decided not to use the tire after getting it back from T.A. I thought the material they used for the base tape was kinda cheezy (like first-aid kit adhesive tape). Furthermore, a tire that was EXTREMELY tight fitting the first time I mounted it (when new) was kinda loose after getting "repaired" by tire alert.

My only other experience with tire repair was from a man named Nelo Breda in Texas. Rather than disembowling the tire and replacing the tube, Mr. Breda does a traditional patch repair. IIRC (form the one time I used his service some time ago), he was slightly more expensive - I think $15 per tire +shipping regardless of how many tires. The tire came back looking and riding great. Also, unlike TA, Mr. Breda can repair a tire with a latex tube. I have his business card at work and can provide more contact details if anybody's interested.

Hmmm. I would like to hear from any of you with personal experiences with Tire Alert.. I was just talking to a very good& long term customer yesterday about them.. He was dissatisfied with their base tape gluing job.. It was inadequate and caused him not to be able to use the tires for very long after receiving them back from TireAlert.. He wanted to send more tires but was waiting for them to answer his inquiry as to how they intended to address this problem.
