Subject: [CR]Browning bicycles

I remember seeing Browning's bicycles back in the 70s, but never paid much attention to them back then.

Yesterday, I stumbled onto a rather beat specimen, missing numerous parts. This one had Shimano forged dropouts with an integral rear derailleur ear; sort of crude looking lugs; chromed fork tips and rear stays. Pivo stem; Weinmann centerpull brakes with Shimano (?!!) top tube cable clips; SunTour downtube shifters, rusted out front derailleur and some sort of VT-series rear derailleur.

It also featured a little sticker somewhere noting the bike was made in Belgium. Anybody know about these things? I know Browning had/has(?) a long-standing relationship with certain facilities in Liege and Herstal for their firearms trade, but who built their bikes? Any ideas as to what sort of material this one is built from?

Thanks,
