This gruppo is very similar to the same period Nuevo Record gruppo in the basic designs. The finishes are somewhat more of a matte than a polished finish. The bearing surfaces are a little less precise, but excellent by other standards. The brakes have a simpler release mechanism. The biggest performance difference is the rear derailleur which seems to suffer from the cheap stamped jockey wheel cages or something to make shifting less precise (but not much). I don't know what the price difference was from NR, but this later Gran Sport gruppo is pretty good functional stuff.
