I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why SR levers are suddenly fetching big bucks on Ebay. Auction number 1176391051 is an ordinary set of SR levers with new logo hoods that sold for $150. I realize that the hoods are getting a little scarce and generally sell for about $50, but the levers that most of those hoods are pirated from are not rare at all. It seems like there must have been a huge surplus of these levers when aero routing came about and riders "upgraded" to AGC's, Dura Ace etc. I bought a set of SRs with hoods from Renaissance just a few months ago for $40. Granted this was a great bargain (thanks to BC) but this $150 set is not the first $100-plus sale I've seen recently. Any ideas? Anyone want to buy my set for $150?

By the way, one thing I've never seen on Ebay is a set of first-gen SR brake levers. It seems to me that these would command $150, given what people are paying for 1st-gen SR rears and 2-bolt SR posts. The first gen SR levers were shaped like the pre-CPSC Nuovos, complete with the big'hands reach. I've only seen them in photos. Does any CR lister own a set?
