Subject: [CR]Benotto Mexico Bike Worthwhile?

Haunting a thrift store this afternoon I saw my first Benotto. I didn't buy it because it said it was made in Mexico, but it was a very reasonable price indeed, and even included a Silca pump. The downtube and seattube were kind of squashed oval type in their center parts, so maybe it isn't very vintage (?). Fork crown looked very nice, but I left knowing I needed to look at Dale's great page first, and the Benottos there seemed to be Italian.

Probably just a boom bike, but it had some good Suntour parts, wasn't too heavy, and the stem and seatstays had "Benotto" embossed/panto'd (?) on them in one fashion or another. I'd love someone's thoughts, as I keep wondering about this bike tonight. Maybe it was just that it was white with pink trim, had nearly perfect decals and pink hb tape? Shucks, probably just a chick thing... :-)

Thanks, Paulie Davis in very hot Los Angeles
