Another flat and pouring down rain that both occured soon after I started my Saturday morning Key Biscayne training ride. I counted another five flats for the rain discouraged peloton this morning... poor fate of racers with high end lightweight tires. Anyway drafting behind me is a fellow classic biker. His most recent purchase a 1981 Benotto with near perfect silver paint. Nouvo record front and rear derailleur, Campy crank with Benotto insignia engraved and blue paint accented. Benotto engraved stem. Newer microadjust Japanese type seatpost. Avocet newer seat and it came with the original Campy hubs but was being ridden with alternate wheels today. For some reason the brakes were aero Grand comps 400 and the tubing was Tange db with a heart cutout on the bottom bracket bottom. This bike was purchased without any obvious blemishes or problems for the grand price of $80.00!!!!!!!!!!!! Why don't I have this kind of luck?? BTW what tubing did the Benottos generally come with?
