Here's a ride sponsored by an excellent classic Bike shop, so why not make it a Classic ride? Support Old Town Cycles and list stalwart Sarah Gibson, and come on out and join me, Kansas City! (I'll need all the help I can get.) I'll be easy to recognize: the red faced fellow trailing behind the pack with the old lugged bike, the fuzzy legs and the spare tire(s) around my waist. I'm sure afterwards they'll be a chance to view Old Town's excellent collection of classic steel. If I can get it put together in time, I'll be riding my newly refurbished '78 Trek.

Subject: Upcoming organized rides

Sunday, 16 September is the annual EIGHT BRIDGES RIDE, a metric century (62 mile) ride that is one of the premier annual rides in this area. It is sponsored in part by Old Town Cyclery, our favorite bike shop, and starts and finishes in its parking lot. The ride is always well-marked and includes rest stops with food and drink along the way. Registration up to 9 September is $12, and $15 thereafter. Call Old Town at 913-894-5588 for more information.
