Subject: [CR]Sheldon Brown is a classic revival

Does anyone else think that Sheldon Brown is a classic? At about the same time when I was first lusting after classic road bikes and experiencing my adolescence, the hippie era was coming to its fullest bloom. PX-10's were experienced simultaneously as I watched hippies dancing in New York's Bethesda Fountain, while they were stoned on acid and I was (well er) watching from astride my 10 speed. My hair was long, and so was everyone else's. People had the right to be wild, and aside from yippie politics, and a burnt draft card, the hippest thing to have was a ten speed racer.

Thirty years later and lugged steel classics are as scarce as chicken lips. Expressive intellectuals with an unassuming laid back style of dress and a wealth of knowledge and opinions about bikology, along with a counter culture pedigree are rare too. Tell us Sheldon if you had to be just one classic bike, which one would you wish to be, and which one are you really. Garth
