Tim,

OK, that's the last straw. I have a friend who has been sitting on his hands regarding a project that I know we all will enjoy participating in and every single listmember will most deffiniately benifit from. The only catch is that we as a group must organize and co-operate with one another for the common good. Truth be told, there is only one stumbeling block between you (that means anyone) and FREEDOM! The freedom to affordably and easily have access to vintage bike decals for any project that might come up. I promise you that pretty much every member will be abel to acquire decals to do with what they please. You want to do your own restoration, no problem. You want your local painter to do it, OK. You want a well meaning friend or local car painter to paint your bike, easily done. Here's the deal. My friend is planning to organize a "decal consortium" wherein as a group we collectivly gather original vintage decals and art to reproduce any decal set neccessary. The money generated from the sale of what is produced will be used to reimburse those doing artwork and color seperations. There will need to be some orginizing and other tasks to deal with, but I feel confident that we have the resources (having spoken to several key people about these possibilities) and the horsepower to undertake this venture at this time. The list is (and therefore Dale) is making this possible as we realize our "community" of vintage cycle buffs. This will make many projects practical and affordable for many people and bring a lot more activity, interest, and restored bikes into the hobby.

I personally don't have a lot of time for this but as I said, I know several LARGE pockets of available vintage decals in the possession of persons (including Brian Myers at fresh frame, who by the way is a really great person for those of you who are not aware of that fact) who are more than happy to work together for the common good. At this writing I'm testing the waters for support and fishing for ideas as to how to organize and prioritize our needs. Anyone with me?
