This may be slightly off-list as the frame I have wasn't made in the early 80s, but is a classicly built lugged Reynolds frame nonetheless. I moved from Huntsville AL to Orlando FL in April, but just got around to unboxing my Hollands bike this weekend. I rode it for the first time in seven months yesterday. It's amazing to me how much different it rides from the bikes I've been riding for the past six months--Masi (3v and Prestige), Grandis, Columbine, Spectrum. The pencil-thin tapered seatstay tops and pencil-thin lower fork may contribute to the suppleness of the ride, but it was amazing how I could feel the bumps being absorbed by the frame and actually watch the fork flexing as I rode a rough section of pavement. Several listmembers have told me that John Hollands frames aren't particularly 'prized' among true classic frame collectors. I'm perplexed by those statements as this one is not only very well built, with gorgeous paint by FreshFrames, but the ride is like no other bike that I own. Anybo dy else have any thoughts on this make? Lou Deeter "should be working in Orlando"
