This was far more pain than silly, and gives great meaning to pain in the butt.

Filly bike show, 7 years ago? Bought some show sample bikes and was wheeling one, cans pedals, to the van in the adjacent parking garage. It was a few ramps away, all down hill. I was toting a briefcase and pack of stuff and was tired of walking.

I also had a jacket draped through my arm and was looking nmd feeling 'loaded down'

Coasting the bike would be faster and less tiring.

So, I broke into a little trot to get up some speed and leaped up to land on what I thought was the seat, but remembered a fleeting moment too late that it was in the box with the pedals.

The worse news was that I didn't land on the toptube, but the exposed post and related roughness of its hardware. And it wasn't just a sit-down, but a crash landing.

The echoing scream throughout the garage and resulting plaster falling off the ceiling was akin to an earthquake to those within earshot.
