I was cleaning one of my bikes the other day and noticed that the chromed chainstay has a few very small pinhole sized spots that you can feel when you rub your finger over the chainstay. I figured this was the beginnings of rust and tried to rub it out with a rag and simichrome, but that didn't work.
Is this rust and is there a way that I can fix this or prevent this from spreading? Or am I doomed?
