In the context of trying to reproduce a single decal that's been wrecked (as opposed to doing a complete and thorough restoration), has anyone tried anything like this:

I'm under the impression that they might fade(?), but it looks like it would be possible to clear coat over them for protection.
Anyone tried this stuff?
