They were made "offshore" before Carlsbad, etc. Think historically; in the 1950's when Italian high-end bikes started coming into the US in any numbers, war-hammered Italy was a third-world economy. These Masis are probably from Taiwan, where labor in some industries is more expensive than Italian and US labor! David Feldman
