Sterling,

Italian Masis built in 1972 and early 1973 can have twin plate crowns. It is possible that there were more American built Masis with twin plate crowns than Italian ones. I have two Italian Masis in the shop right now that have twin plate crowns. Obviously they exist. I've noticed that here are several different approaches to the twin plate crown construction amongst the Italian built frames. I imagine it depended on who built the fork in question.
