The vintage ride in San Diego was some fun yesterday. Lots of nice bikes, as usual (Chuck Schmidt's Mercian Path Racer has to get special mention...I think that's about my favorite bike among all the beauties in Chuck's stable..)....but the prize has to go to Brian Baylis and his Bob Jackson trike. Man, that thing is wild. Cool, but wild. I was right behind him as we blasted down a steep hill on our way to Pt. Loma, and I gotta tell ya, Brian not only builds stunning frames, he knows how to ride! Watching him keep that thing upright at speed was an education!
That's a great ride with good company, and if you can make it, you should check it out...and for all So. Cal. CR members, don't forget the Rose Bowl ride next Sunday...
