I asked a friend of mine (Andrew Hilman) what he remembered about Ti in the Pro ranks (my memory is not so wonderful):

"Hmmm

Lance and the gang....Hampsten bought his own (American Flyer) etc -the first ones were DeRosas then they were Litespeed custom spec (not stock models by any means) -the tube profiles were copies of the Merkx MXL frames

Amaya (rebadged standard round tubed Litespeeds)

Bianchi (even before Megatube, GB/MG and Gatorade rode "round" tubed Ti bikes) -specifically remembered Franco Vona and Pascal Richard winning stages on them (Giro/Tour de Suisse)

Festina with Peugeot decals, they had Ti and aluminum

Colnago dual downtube Ti (Rominger and Olano (won worlds)

Gan (Blue and then White Mercks) they rode Ti, round tube steel, aluminum and MXL

Montgomery Bell (early version of US Postal) rode GT Titanium"

Anyone else remember?
