My Taylor "Tourist" serial # is 7191. It is a 1977. I have a "Tour of Britain" serial 8679. I purchased this recently from Norman as one from the last batch of frames built. Hilary is correct that the Taylors used a sequential number system. Which means that your "Tour of Britain" is a bit later than 77 and a bit earlier than whenever the last batch was done.
