One tip on taping that hasn't been touched on so far is always wrap each bar the same way ie inboard or outboard. I always wrap to the outboard side having done it this way for 30+ years. I am sure wraping inboard would achive the same results though. Also, I used to put two or three layers on the bars as this felt more comfortable to me.
