Subject: [CR]Masi question

There is a Masi GC for sale on ebay that has a peculiar stampings on the bb shell. I just heard from the owner and he confirmed that the stampings are: "MC28" with a 58 or 53 above the oval cut-out. It has a George Fisher bb shell and twin plate fork crown. Go here to look: http://ebay.com/<blah> This brings up another question I had about the stampings on Masis. I have two Masi frames with no serial numbers, with one having just a frame size, no "M or MC" prefix. Someone mentioned once that employees often had frames with no serial number. How did that work, did they choose a frame from those built or were they ordered before the build process started? At what point in the build process were the frames marked? At least this question isn't as dumb as the last one!
