Minor correction, those old Stronglights are a nominal 23.35mm thread (which measures about 23.2mm). The newer ones are the modern standard, 22.0mm

A reminder: If you have one of those old Stronglights, *don't* use a TA extractor, or the larger side of the old two-sided Park extractor - they are 23.0mm They will fool you because they seem at first to work - they thread into the crank, but will extract the threads from the crank instead of the crank from the axle!

So buy Hilary's tool if you don't have one- -they're getting rare and even if you don't have that crank now, you will want to work on one someday.
