I would ceretainly call the SunTour's retrofriction, because when 'going back' the friction pressure plate is what holds the lever in place. The 'number 9' dog flips and ratchets out of the way when downshifting, bypassing the action of the friction plates We never clled 'em retrofriction back in the ol' days, just ratshit.
