Before I go disagreein' - I gotta say I agree with most evrything brother Baylis says and like his style to boot.

HOWEVER! The above quote is just wishful thinking. The price on ebay isn't set by the seller but by the buyers. Where does greed come into it? I laugh at thousand-dollar derailleurs and saddles but I don't blame the guy who raked in the windfall, nor do I fault the bidder guy who values cool old bike parts more than mere money. It'd be *nice* if there were a never-ending supply of cheap Nervex lugs, but in this world where there are more people who want 'em than there are lugs left, the price is going to go up. Sentimentality and silliness may exaggerate the trend but mostly it's due to rarity.

Buck up Brian - if you made Nervex clones out of blanks they'd look better than the real thing anyway, so when real ones get more expensive than your work, it'll just be good for business, right?
