Subject: [CR]Sachs 2-speed hub

Any one out there in ClassicRendezvous-land know much about these hubs? I've recently picked up one and it's a bit different than the kickback type that I have seen. It is a Torpedo and appears to require an indicator chain like a Sturmey Archer hub. The right side of the axle is hollow and the right axle nut looks very similar to a Sturmey. I've posted a couple of lousy pictures at the url's below: http://www.avocat.com/morton/sachs.jpg http://www.avocat.com/morton/sachs1.jpg http://www.avocat.com/morton/sachs2.jpg

Anyone familiar with this model of hub? When was it manufactured? What type of indicator chain does it use - will a SA one work? Anyone have a service sheet for it? Any information would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,
