A couple of years ago (well actually during 1984) I was in the Cuevas shop in Astoria, Queens and had a long conversation with his son who was also the painter at the time. He told me the Cuvas story as it was related to him by his father. Since it was related to me in a "stream of consciousness" style (rather than in cronological order) there is no chance that I can get all the details correct even if I had them correctly to begin with. So while I clearly remember the countries where he said his father had worked as a frame builder, I'm not certain of the order. It goes something like this: Argentina Spain France USA, obviously In fact, my recollection is being told that he first worked with Limongi in France. Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (but once of Queens, NYC, not far from the dreaded Kissena park velodrome)
