While on the subject, I've always wondered if the Campy cable clips were made in a slightly larger size to fit the 26mm French top tubes, as opposed to 1" (25.5mm) English top tubes. I've used Campy clips on French frames, but it is difficult to install them. Did Campy-equipped French bikes in the late 60's to early 80's use Simplex clips or did Campy make the French size?
