I have never tried the Bivalent hubs but I once saw a Cinelli with them at a garage which sold a VW Beatle( a lemon) to me in Milan in 1982. The owner of the garage, Mr. Magnotti, told me he was a gregario(assisting racer) of Coppi and he could exchange it with a new bicycle of Lupo. I asked Lupo Mascheroni and Angelo Galmozzi about the bivalent hubs and they unanimously told that they were dangerous and useless.
Mr. Magnotti seemed to me an admirer of Mussolini and Lupo apparently did not like him.
I am now regretting that I did not seriously try to negotiate and get the Cinelli then .And I would like to know the merits of Bivalent hubs. Were they actually used at races?
